Anne-Lise Sibony

Professor - Competition Law

Anne-Lise Sibony is professor of European Law at the UCLouvain (Louvain-La-Neuve, Belgium) anda guest professor at KULeuven (Leuven, Belgium), where she teaches Law & Behavioural Sciences.

Her scholarship spans across several areas of European law: competition law,internal market, and consumer law.

Anne-Lise’s main research interests is how law incorporates insights from other social sciences. Her early research focused on how courts use economic reasoning in applying competition law. Her focus then shifted to behavioural sciences and consumer protection. She is interested in when, how and under what conditions law turns to external inputs and how the legal system transforms them.

Anne-Lise is has recently been appointed as a member of an advisory academic group to the Belgian secretary of state for consumer protection (April 2022).
