Antoine Gaudemet

PhD in Law

Antoine Gaudemet is a professor of Law at the University Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas. A graduate in Law and Economics he earned his PhD from the Panthéon-Assas University in 2008 and passed the Aggregation of Law in 2009. Prior to joining Panthéon-Assas, he was a professor in Rennes. Professor Gaudemet teaches French and European corporate, financial, banking and securities law.

His current research work focuses on financial regulation, systemic risk, recovery of financial institutions, and market abuses. He is consulted on a regular basis by the French Treasury and was a member of the French delegation in charge of negotiating the Unidroit close-out netting core principles in 2013.

He is the author of The Law on Financial Derivatives (2010) which was awarded several prizes : Oscar du Droit des Sociétés et de la Bourse, Prix de l‘Association Européenne de Droit Bancaire et Financier, Prix Albert Wahl de la Chancellerie des Universités, Prix de l’Université Panthéon-Assas.

He regularly publishes articles relating to corporate, financial, banking, and securities law in both French and international reviews. He is a scientific advisor to the International Review of Financial Services.
