Senior Construction Expert Advisor & Non-Executive Board Member

Shamila Neelakandan is a dual qualified Lawyer (Malaysia and UK) with 29 years of legal, contracts and commercial experience in the power generation and water desalination, oil & gas, and rail & infrastructure sectors throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Shamila is an expert in managing complex claims and was recently recognised as Independent Construction Expert, South East Asia.

Shamila’s wider experience includes tender negotiations, procurement, commercial strategy and dispute management. Shamila previously headed HKA’s Construction Claims & Expert Services for the Asia Pacific region. She currently presides as an arbitrator on construction disputes and is a non-executive board member for establishments in the energy sector. She also continues to undertake advocacy work in consulting services through presentations and case management services in dispute resolution proceedings.
