A Warm Welcome to the LL.M. in European Law Cohort of 2026 in Paris
On 8 September, the new academic year began for the LL.M. in European Law at the Paris campus, welcoming a new cohort of students not only from all over Europe but from the United States of America as well.
The day opened with a morning introduction by the co-directors of the LL.M. in European Law, Prof. Emmanuelle Chevreau and Prof. Idris Fassassi, who warmly welcomed the new students at the Institut de droit comparé de Paris (IDC) in the 7th arrondissement and presented the year ahead. The students then met the Assas Welcome Desk, which helps newcomers adapt to the university life at Assas. The team organises guided library tours as well as many other outings, such as guided visits of the UNESCO Headquarters, tours of Cité internationale universitaire de Paris and museum visits, to name a few.
The students were also encouraged to sign up for free French classes to strengthen their French at different levels, covering written French, oral expression, debate and grammar.
The same evening, the students gathered for a welcome dinner in the heart of the 5th arrondissement near the Panthéon, which was a great way to get to know one another outside of the university context and enjoy the new city life.
A week later, the Welcome Breakfast for International Students brought the LL.M. students together with other international newcomers. The Student Association Day then let them discover the many associations they can join at Assas, which is also a great way to connect with French students at the university.
In mid-October a Welcome Breakfast dedicated to the LL.M. students will take place, giving them the chance to connect and share their experiences with students from the other LL.M. programmes the Paris campus offers.
We warmly welcome our new students and wish them a successful and enriching year in Paris. So far it has been quite busy and eventful!
