Discover the World of Law: Join the Mauritius Campus Summer Camp 2026

Four days of discovery, practical experiences and professional encounters await students aged 15 to 23 at Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas, Mauritius Campus.

What does it mean to study law? What does a lawyer actually do? And could a future in the legal profession be the right path for you?

Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas, Mauritius Campus, invites students aged 15 to 23 to take part in its Summer Camp 2026, taking place on 23, 24 and 30 November, and 1 December 2026.

Designed to introduce young people to the world of law and university life, this four-day programme offers an opportunity to explore legal careers, develop practical skills and experience different aspects of legal education in an interactive environment.

DAY 1: Discover the many career opportunities in law

The Summer Camp opens with a dedicated day exploring the different professions within the legal sector. Students will have the opportunity to meet legal professionals and discover the roles and responsibilities of lawyers, judges, notaries, corporate legal advisers and compliance officers.

Through short presentations and discussions, participants will gain a better understanding of the diverse career opportunities available to those pursuing legal studies.

DAY 2: Step into the courtroom: Become a Lawyer

What is it like to argue a case before a judge?

During the second day, students will discover the principles of a Moot Court competition through a simulated legal case organised by the Assas Law Society.

Working in teams representing the defence and prosecution, participants will examine the case, develop legal arguments and prepare their oral presentations before presenting their arguments to a jury.

This practical exercise will introduce students to legal reasoning, teamwork, public speaking and the art of persuasion.

DAY 3: Experience university life at Assas

The third day, entitled My Life at Assas, will offer students a glimpse into the academic experience at Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas.

Participants will attend introductory lectures, including a session on Mauritian constitutional law, and discover what studying law at university involves.

They will also take part in a career exploration workshop entitled Choose Your Profession, during which they will select a legal career that interests them and prepare a short presentation explaining their choice.

DAY 4: Explore the history and evolution of law

The final day will combine interactive activities and academic exchanges.

Working in teams, students will take part in outdoor legal challenges designed to test their observation, reasoning and problem-solving skills.

The programme will also include a presentation by Professor Emmanuelle Chevreau, Vice-President of the University and director of the Mauritius Campus, followed by student presentations on their chosen legal careers.

The day will conclude with an informal gathering, offering participants an opportunity to exchange with the Vice-President and reflect on their experience.

An opportunity to explore your future

Whether students are already considering a career in law or simply curious about the subject, the Summer Camp provides an opportunity to discover the legal world beyond the classroom.

Through professional encounters, practical exercises and academic activities, participants will be encouraged to develop their curiosity, confidence and understanding of the legal profession.
