Gary F. Bell

Visiting Professor of Law

National University of Singapore, Director of the LL.M. in International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution, visiting Professor of Law, Panthéon-Assas University

Gary F. Bell serves as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law at the National University of Singapore, where he directs the LL.M. programs in International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution, as well as in Asian Legal Studies.

Prof. Bell received his legal education in both civil law (primarily the French system) and common law (mainly the English system) at McGill University, where he studied in both languages. He furthered his expertise in American law at Columbia University and completed a clerkship with Justice Stevenson of the Supreme Court of Canada.

With a strong emphasis on international arbitration, dispute resolution, and comparative law, Prof. Bell has made significant contributions to these areas through his extensive publications. He edited The UNCITRAL Model Law and Asian Arbitration Laws (Cambridge University Press, 2018) and has served as an arbitrator in numerous cases governed by the rules of organizations such as the SIAC, ICC, LCIA, and KCAB. He is affiliated with several Panels of Arbitrators, including the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.

Prof. Bell is fluent in English and French (his native language) and possesses a working reading knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia. He is a member of the Barreau du Québec and the Barreau de Montréal.
