Induction Week: Discovering Assas, Discovering Mauritius

A new chapter, new connections and a first taste of life in Mauritius.

Last week, the Paris-Panthéon-Assas University – Mauritius Campus welcomed its new cohort of Bachelor of Laws, LL.B. (Hons) and BSc in Economics and Finance (Hons) students during a three-day induction programme designed to help them settle into university life, connect with their peers and discover the Assas community.

The first two days focused on onboarding and orientation, giving students the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the university, meet their classmates and learn more about their programmes, the campus and the Assas experience. These first moments were an important opportunity for students to build connections and begin their academic journey with confidence.

The induction programme then moved beyond the classroom, giving students the chance to experience another side of university life and to discover the natural beauty of Mauritius.

Discovering the south of Mauritius

The third day took students outdoors for an adventure in the south of Mauritius, combining exploration, teamwork and a taste of the island’s spectacular landscapes.

The hike, guided by the Nemo Rando team, began in Savinia and took students through the scenic landscapes of the south before finishing at Le Bouchon.

Along the way, students had the opportunity to experience Mauritius from a different perspective, surrounded by nature and away from the university environment. The hike encouraged teamwork, interaction and camaraderie, while allowing students to discover some of the island’s less familiar landscapes.

The day continued with activities on the beach, creating a relaxed setting for students to get to know one another, strengthen new friendships and enjoy their first shared experiences outside the classroom.

More than an induction

For many of our international students, the induction programme was also an introduction to Mauritius itself. Beyond discovering their new university, they had the opportunity to explore the island, experience its natural environment and connect with the people around them.

This combination of academic orientation and cultural discovery reflects the experience of studying at the Paris-Panthéon-Assas University, Mauritius Campus: an international education in a unique island setting, where students can develop academically while building connections and experiencing a new culture.

As the new academic year begins, we look forward to seeing our LL.B. and BSc students grow, learn and create many more memories together throughout their time at Assas.

Welcome to the Assas community. Your journey starts here.
