Will 2024 be the inflection point for tokenised securities where we see greater legal and regulatory clarity, technology standardisation, integration of digital payment rails, as well as connectivity across DLT and legacy platforms?
2023 witnessed a number of initiatives using Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and tokenised securities. These initiatives have demonstrated new opportunities for financial market participants to transform the ways in which they issue, and manage the life cycle of capital market products. After extensive pilots and several live issuances, new operating models are emerging that can deliver operational efficiency and liquidity benefits across entire trade flows and to asset classes such as tokenised bonds and structured products.
There is increasing industry realisation that that the adoption of digital assets and modern technologies, such as DLT, are gaining momentum with industry reports forecasting nearly USD 4 to 5 trillion of outstanding tokenised securities by 2030 from debt instruments, fund products, and securities collateral.
Join our expert panellists Sriram Chakravarthi and Swapnil Pawar as they analyse the major developments relating to tokenised securities in 2023 and look ahead to what’s in store for 2024.
