Jacob Grierson

Visiting Lecturer – Partner, Asafo & Co.

Jacob GRIERSON is the founder of Anima Dispute Resolution, a law firm specializing in international arbitration. His practice focuses on representing clients across a wide array of arbitration cases, including disputes in the oil and gas, mining, power, construction, telecommunications, and pharmaceutical sectors. Jacob has handled matters involving foreign investment disputes, joint venture disputes, post-merger and acquisition issues, licensing disputes, as well as distribution and franchising conflicts.

He holds degrees from Balliol College, Oxford University, and the College of Europe in Bruges, and is a qualified English barrister and French avocat. Mr. GRIERSON has extensive experience in arbitrations conducted under ICC Rules, as well as other arbitration frameworks such as ad hoc, ICSID, HKIAC, and LCIA. He has served as an arbitrator in various capacities, including sole arbitrator, president, and co-arbitrator. Additionally, he is a CEDR-qualified mediator.

Mr. GRIERSON is the Vice-President of the Casablanca International Mediation and Arbitration Center (CIMAC), a Council Member of the ICC Institute of World Business Law, and a member of the ICC Arbitration Commission. He also serves on the editorial board of the IBA Arbitration Committee’s Newsletter and is the co-author of the book Arbitrating under the 2012 ICC Rules: An Introductory User’s Guide, published by Kluwer Law International. He teaches at several universities, including the College of Europe.

He is fluent in both English and French.
