Renato Costa is a Lecturer at the T.C. Beirne School of Law at the University of Queensland, and an Affiliate of the Centre for public, international and comparative law.

After practicing as a lawyer in Brazil, he now specializes in constitutional and comparative law and teaches Public and Constitutional law. He particularly focuses on constitutional theory and specific aspects of the Australian constitutional system. He is also the Associate Editor of the University of Queensland Law Journal, and he recently co-authored Raizes do Federalismo Australiano : discursos de Sir HenryParkes  (Roots of Australian Federalism : selected speeches by Sir Henry Parkes, 2024).
