Daren read law at the University of Wolverhampton and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2004. In 2005, he was called to the bar before the Supreme Court of Mauritius and practiced as Barrister-at-Law for several years at the Chambers of Madun Gujadhur QC. He also lectured at the London School of Law (Mauritius) ltd, the University of Mauritius and the Council of Legal Education.

Daren is currently a District Magistrate and took judicial office in 2012. He has been sitting in various Districts of Mauritius namely Port-Louis, Upper, Lower Plaines Wilhems and the Bail and Remand Court.
