Taroon Ramtale

Taroon Ramtale holds an LL.B with First Class Honours and a Master in Business Administration (Financial Services) with distinction from the University of Mauritius. In 2017, Taroon topped the bar examinations in Mauritius and subsequently, in 2019, he was admitted to the Mauritian Bar.

He joined Benoit Chambers, law firm, where he acted as litigator before all courts of Mauritius. He also appeared in domestic and international arbitrations. He assisted foreign counsel for Betamax Ltd before the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council.

Thereafter, in 2021, he joined the Attorney-General’s Office where he presently holds the position of State Counsel. His duties consist of providing legal advice to and conducting cases for the State of Mauritius, Ministries and Government departments. He is also involved in the drafting of legislations.
