1. Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Fernando Campino, a Chilean lawyer with more than 10 years of experience working in full service law firms. I studied in the Law School of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, in Santiago.
I started my career at the end of 2009, when I joined the Capital Markets team of Barros & Errázuriz Abogados, also in Santiago. After about 7 years in Barros & Errázuriz Abogados (and with 3 kids to raise), I decided to come back to the University, but to study an LLM ; so the Parisian family adventure started! Once this incredible experience finished, during 2018, I joined the Corporate Law team of Cuatrecasas, in Madrid, Spain, where I worked as a foreign lawyer during about 1 year. Finally, and as was planned since the beginning, after Madrid I came back to Chile and rejoined the Capital Markets team in Barros & Errázuriz Abogados, as Senior Associate.
Apart from working as a corporate lawyer, I have been performing in parallel some specific functions in the family business, being the secretary of the board of directors of one company, since 2011 and to this days (Agrícola Ariztía, the second larger poultry producer in Chile) and a member of the board in another company, since 2015 and to this days (Melifeed, small industrial company formed in an association with a subsidiary of Grupo Angelini, one of the largest business groups in Chile).
2. What is your current job (or academic program enrollment)?
- Senior Associate in Barros & Errázuriz Abogados (Santiago, Chile)

3. How has graduating from LLM International Business Law enabled you to advance in your career/academic path?
I strongly believe that my pass through Sorbonne-Assas International Business Law classrooms has left a deep footprint in my identity both as an individual and as a lawyer. I decided to join the LLM once I had almost 7 years working in a big law firm, so at that time I actually had quite clear notions about main drivers in the professional career. However, during the LLM lessons I discovered an enormous value in rethinking and rediscussing many well-known matters, but at that time with colleagues and professors with an incredible variety of experiences and studies all over the world. This valuable experience helped me to realize how developed were the practices in Chile, and how to improve my abilities and the quality and accuracy of my services as a practitioner in Corporate Law..
4. What are the reasons which made you choose to pursue the LLM International Business Law delivered by Sorbonne-Assas International Law School?
I would like to highlight three strong reasons: (1) Small class: being a student in a about 25 classmates classroom is a unique opportunity to develop a strong relationship both with your classmates and with the professors; (2) Lectures and practical lessons: It is a genuine privilege to get in parallel the two faces of the issues: academic and practical; in both cases with high level lecturers / practitioners. In addition, lessons from practitioners were rendered mostly by partners of the most important law firms in Paris and in their offices; bringing the opportunity to be in touch with the highest level legal practice in Europe; and (3) Living in Paris: it is not possible to avoid to highlight how amazing is living in Paris, probably one of the most beautiful and interesting cities in the entire world; full of history, culture, gastronomy and people from all over the world.
5. If you had any advice or insight to give to an applicant or a new enrolled student to the LLM program, what would it be?
(1) To try to learn French, before and during the stay in Paris, it is a beautiful and amazing language that you may enjoy learning while living in France; and (2) to make all possible efforts to rent an apartment in the middle of Paris (ideally close to Pantheon-Assas but totally not out from the Périphérique): living in Paris must be inside of Paris and is one of the most amazing and beautiful experiences I had.

5. If you had any advice or insight to give to an applicant or a new enrolled student to the LLM program, what would it be?
My advice would be to a newly enrolled student: now that you have made it, live the experience to the fullest; the LLM is obviously about studying and learning but also about creating long-lasting relationship (I am still in touch with all the participants of the program and, fun fact, I met the mother of my two boys during the LLM).

My experience at Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas has been very enriching as I embraced its uniqueness of course offering which are based on the English common law system, French system and also the Mauritian system. It prepared me to take up the challenges that one would expect when choosing to dive into the legal field both in Mauritius and at the international level. It has been very helpful to have interactions with qualified professors, barristers and attorneys during my study at the university.
Studying law has never been my childhood dream but after becoming acquainted with the various aspects of law, I am determined to devote the rest of my time into it as I intend to take up the Bar Vocational Course in the coming year and eventually practice law as an attorney.
1. Can you introduce yourself?
Hello! My name is Georgia Diederichsen and I am a Brazilian lawyer currently living in Singapore. I moved to Asia in 2018 to pursue an LL.M. in International Business Law at Sorbonne-Assas and fell in love with the place. I currently work at a tech company in the ecommerce / marketplace aggregation space, in which I am able to navigate between legal and operations. I am also a member of the Alumni Association in Singapore and I am always happy to talk to candidates and students, walk them through life in Singapore and help them understand the possible career moves after an LL.M. Although I miss Brazil very much, I hope to continue calling Singapore my home for many years.
2. What is your current job?
I am currently a Senior Director / Legal Counsel at Shopmatic Group. I have multiple hats, being legal just one of them – I am also involved in operations, data privacy, corporate development, strategic partnerships, risk assessment and more. Every day is different, and boredom is definitely not in our vocabulary.
3. How has graduating from the LLM International Business Law enabled you to advance in your career?
I joined the program at a point in my career that I was becoming too specialized in areas like environmental law, corporate law and other ESG-related issues, and maybe neglecting the fact that there is much more out there. From an educational perspective, the LL.M. helped me update my (sometimes limited) knowledge of some things I had only seen during law school and gave me a good understanding of how the legal system works in the EU and in Singapore. From a “geographical” perspective, the LL.M. was invaluable for me to find a job in Singapore and create roots here. From an overall perspective, I always say that the LL.M. opens many doors and fosters opportunities that, if you put some effort and use it well, can take you to anywhere you want.
4. What are the reasons which made you choose to pursue the LL.M International Business Law delivered by Sorbonne-Assas International Law School?
In my opinion, one of the main highlights is that the program offers a good mixture of European, Singapore and international law, as well as optional modules beyond the legal scope that help you focus on a more practical side of the law. Apart from that, the program offered by Sorbonne-Assas in Singapore gives you access to the INSEAD campus and classes on topics that lawyers typically don’t have a lot of contact with like finance, marketing, accountancy and so on. The modules are taught by MBA professors and you can really leverage on their endless knowledge and experience. Finally, I really wanted to live in Asia and consolidate my career move. Thus, the location was non-negotiable to me!
