Julie Martinez

Julie MARTINEZ is a French Law Clerk working at Baker McKenzie (Paris Office). She is four-lingual (French, English, German and Italian speaker) and possesses strong skills and understanding of English, French, German and American Intellectual Property, Information Law, Big Data and Data Protection law.

Her practice focuses on advisory and litigation matters in the areas of IP law (copyrights, trademarks, designs and models), IT law/ Tech Law (IT agreements such as software licenses, integration, outsourcing, ASP, SaaS, cloud computing, IA, big data), and internet law (e-commerce, online gambling, liability of technical intermediaries) and data protection.

Julie has obtained the French Bar Exam after her post-graduate studies in Paris, Berlin and London. She has a Master of Law (LL.M.) in Intellectual Property and Information Law from King’s College London, a Master of Law (LL.M.) in European Business Law from the Humboldt University in Berlin and a Master of Law in European and Comparative Business Law from Panthéon-Assas University in Paris.

She is a lecturer in the Diplôme d’Université “Data Protection Officer” and in the Diplôme d’Université “Droit des Technologies du Numérique” for the Panthéon-Assas University in Paris. She also gives TechLaw lectures in HEC Paris which is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious and selective business schools in the world.

Prior to taking the Bar exam, Julie acquired experience in the IP/IT department other law firms in Paris and Berlin. She has also worked at IBM – Promontory in London to advise international companies in developing compliance strategies with the entry into force of the GDPR.
