LL.M. European Law Graduation Ceremony
A Memorable LL.M. Graduation Ceremony at Panthéon-Assas
On April 10, the LL.M. European Law graduates gathered alongside professors, friends, and family in a sunlit setting across from the Panthéon to celebrate the completion of their program. Held in the elegant apartment of Panthéon-Assas, the ceremony was a celebration of achievement, growth, and shared memories.
Mme Chevreau, Co-Director of the LL.M. Program, opened the ceremony with a speech recognizing the students’ dedication and collective effort. Daan Bodson, the class valedictorian, followed with a heartfelt speech, reflecting on shared experiences, valuable lessons, and the strong bonds formed among classmates. Additional speeches by Marianne from Brazil and Zach from the United States highlighted the program’s international character and the diverse perspectives that enriched class discussions.
The graduates, who began their studies in September 2024, completed a year defined by numerous presentations, research papers, and lively — sometimes intense — classroom debates. Throughout the program, they were encouraged to step beyond their comfort zones, gaining fresh perspectives on European Law and a deeper understanding of the workings of the European Union.
The program stayed true to its tradition by combining academics with practical insights, including study trips to Luxembourg, Brussels, and Strasbourg. For many, these trips were a highlight, offering a closer look at European institutions and even sparking future career ambitions.
On behalf of the class, the graduates expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the professors and staff for their support and commitment.
The ceremony concluded with the official presentation of diplomas, with each graduate proudly receiving their LL.M. title amid applause, cheers, and camera flashes. The celebration continued with a cocktail reception, where graduates, faculty, and guests shared toasts, laughter, and fond memories of their time together.
