Numerus Group announces The Mohammed and Yassien Shanshal Emiratization Scholarship for the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) 2021-2022 Academic Year

Mohammed and Yassien Shanshal, and Numerus Group (UAE), are firm believers that education is a powerful means of empowering the young people of our region, effecting positive change and making the prospect of a prosperous future a reality. They are honoured to collaborate with the University of Paris II and to support scholarships to 5 United Arab Emirates nationals to study law in the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) course at the University of Paris II. Given the importance of women empowerment and gender equality, at least Fifty percent of the scholarship fund will be allocated to Emirati women candidates.

Dubai Campus – the DIFC Academy in Dubai

After more than a year with limited travel between Paris and Dubai, Nora Carisse, Administration and Finance lead at the Sorbonne Assas – International Law School has finally been able to visit our campus at the DIFC Academy in Dubai.

PepsiCo launches the Rania Rizk Young Arab Women Leaders Scholarship

PepsiCo, through its philanthropic arm, the PepsiCo Foundation is partnering with the University Leadership Council (ULC) (…), and intends to invest $150,000 (AED550,000) in 2021 and awarded in two installments.

The first installments of the scholarship seek to benefit female students for a three-year undergraduate Bachelor of Laws degree with the University of Paris II (France’s leading Law School).

Guillaume Leyte, President of the University Paris II International Law School thanked PepsiCo for its contribution, saying, “I have had the privilege to work with Rania closely and witness firsthand her incredible leadership, keen interest to empower young women, and her firm belief in the study of law as a unique path to exercise responsible leadership. Graduation Ceremony For LL.M. International Business Law – Dubai Campus

Class of 2020 was officially the first class to graduate since the Sorbonne Assas International Law School course was launched on the Dubai campus.

The 34 students from Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University who enrolled in the LL.M. in International Business Law were awarded their degree on Thursday 27 February 2020 by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Tolerance and Chairman of the University Leadership Council, Guillaume Leyte, President of Paris 2 University and Professor Nada Mourtada, Secretary General of the University Leadership Council, co-directors of the LL.M. programme.

The ceremony took place at the the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the leading international financial hub in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region (MEASA), as well as being a place of study for students. The LL.M. in International Business Law course is run by Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University in collaboration with The Academy, which has been operated from the DIFC since 2018.

Other illustrious names in attendance included His Excellency Ludovic Pouille, French Ambassador to the UAE, His Excellency Raja Rabia, Consul of France, His Excellency Essa Kazim, Governor of DIFC, Arif Amiri, CEO of DIFC Authority and Dr Abdulla Al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).

Since 2011, Sorbonne-Assas International Law School of Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University has provided top-level transnational degrees that open the door for their graduates to excellent roles, positions and qualifications in the law and/or business sectors.

The LL.M. in International Business Law is an innovative, top-level legal qualification that trains lawyers or professionals in international business law or deepens their knowledge of this field. Its interdisciplinary modules, taught by professors from Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University and the finest local practitioners, make the LL.M. an excellent qualification that combines an analysis of the major legal concepts involved and control of rigorous and demanding practice. The LL.M. is open to lawyers at every stage of their career, as well as to professionals who can show they have extensive relevant experience, and can be a springboard towards an international career, preparing graduates for operations like major acquisitions, market transactions, cross-border mergers, complex financing, restructurings, leveraged buyouts (LBOs) and financial engineering.

Paris 2 University is continuing in its ambitious plans to expand internationally, placing it alongside other major business schools and universities from around the world that are already present in the region, in partnership with The Academy.

DIFC and University of Paris II Launch Joint Business and Law Degree

  • Partnership expands the Centre’s professional development
  • University of Paris II joins world-renowned institutions that offer a diverse range of educational programmes from the Centre


Dubai, UAE: 16 September 2018 – Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the leading international financial hub in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region, announced today that The Academy, a state-of-the-art facility, curating a full range of impactful, regionally relevant executive education programmes, is entering into a partnership with The University of Paris II Pantheon-Assas. The agreement will support the launch of a joint Master of Laws (LLM) in International Business Law.

Arif Amiri, Chief Executive Officer at DIFC Authority and Professor Guillaume Leyte, President of University of Paris II Pantheon-Assas, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of the French Ambassador to the UAE and Honorary Patron of the agreement, His Excellency Ludovic Pouille. Dr Nada Mourtada, the Secretary-General of the University Leadership Consortium (ULC) and Her Excellency Raja Rabia, the Consul General of France in Dubai also attended the signing ceremony.

The latest partnership will launch a business law degree in 2019 in Dubai and Paris. The degree is for aspiring young leaders, talented administrators, and managerial groundbreakers. The LLM International Business Law prepares students and professionals for operations such as large acquisitions or market transactions, cross-border mergers, complex financing, restructuring, leveraged buyouts (LBOs), financial engineering, and industrial projects.

Arif Amiri, Chief Executive Officer at DIFC Authority, said: “The Academy is a key pillar of our commitment to ensuring that Dubai remains at the forefront of human capital development across the region. Through our collaboration with University Paris II Panthéon-Assas, we continue to deliver on our promise to provide world-class programmes where UAE nationals, residents and professionals can enhance their financial knowledge.”
